Breathing muscle activity and subglottal pressure dynamics in singing and speech

Previous studies have indicated that the diaphragm may contribute to the accomplishment of the quick and precise subglottal pressure changes required during singing. The present investigation compares data collected from simultaneously recorded electromyograms from breathing muscles and transdiaphragmatic pressure during singing as well as during nonsense and emphatic speech.     

Determination of rutin and forsythin in fruit ofForsythia suspensa(Thunb.) Vahl by capillary electrophoresis-electrochemical detection

Summary Capillary electrophoresis-amperometric detection is evaluated for simultaneous determination of rutin and forsythin. The cyclic voltammogram, hydrodynamic voltammogram, effect of pH, buffer concentration and SDS, and percent organic modifier on separation and detection were studied. Conditions were optimized as follows: 1.2 V detection potential; separation at 12 kV; 5 s at 15 kV for sample injection time and sample injection voltage; mobile phase 20 mM boric acid buffer; pH 8.4, containing 40 mM SDS and 10% (v/v) acetontrile. The method gave low detection limit as 0.001 mg mL⁻¹ and 0.0005 mg mL⁻¹ (S/N=3), wide linear range 0.005–0.5 mg mL⁻¹ for rutin and forsythin, respectively. The relative standard deviations of peak current and migration time for 8 consecutive injections of the standard solution containing 0.1 mg mL⁻¹ each compound were 4.78%, 3.63% and 6.40%, 2.95% for rutin and forsythin, respectively. In addition, levels of the two compounds in traditional Chinese herbal drugs were easily determined.     

物流客户服务水平的综合评价研究

本文在客户问卷调查的基础上,结合国外有关的物流企业客户服务指标,建立了物流客户服务水平评价的指标体系,同时应用定性与定量分析相结合的方法,建立了属性综合评价的物流客户服务水平评价模型,并给出了具体的应用实例.     

光信息综合实验中光源的选择和性能改善

在光信息综合实验中,在分析氦氖激光器的优缺点的基础上,阐述了半导体激光器的显著优点以及存在的一些局限性。利用实验室现有的器件,引导学生对半导体激光器进行了光束准直和整形以提高激光器的性能,并用已优化的半导体激光器作为光源进行了全息光栅和全息透镜的制备以及电光调制和液晶光阀等实验。结果表明,性能改善的半导体激光器完全可以取代氦氖激光器,可满足光信息综合实验的要求。在整个设计制作过程中,培养了学生分析问题和解决问题的能力。     

Testing the accuracy of employee-reported data: An inexpensive alternative approach to traditional methods

Although Information Technology (IT) solutions improve the collection and validation of operational data, Operations Managers must often rely on self-reported data from workers to make decisions. The problem with this data is that they are subject to intentional manipulation, thus reducing their suitability for decision-making. A method of identifying manipulated data, digital analysis, addresses this problem at low cost. In this paper, we demonstrate how one uses this method in real-world companies to validate self-reported data from line workers. The results of our study suggest that digital analysis estimates the accuracy of employee reported data in operations management, within limited contexts. These findings lead to improved operating performance by providing a tool for practitioners to exclude inaccurate information.     

Multiarm star block copolymers via Diels‐Alder click reaction

Two types of multiarm star block copolymers: (polystyrene)_m‐poly(divinylbenzene)‐poly(methyl methacrylate)_n, (PS)_m‐polyDVB‐(PMMA)_n and (polystyrene)_m‐poly(divinylbenzene)‐poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)_k, (PS)_m‐polyDVB‐(PtBA)_k were successfully prepared via a combination of cross‐linking and Diels–Alder click reactions based on “arm‐first” methodology. For this purpose, multiarm star polymer with anthracene functionality as reactive periphery groups was prepared by a cross‐linking reaction of divinyl benzene using α‐anthracene end functionalized polystyrene (PS‐Anth) as a macroinitiator. Thus, obtained multiarm star polymer was then reacted with furan protected maleimide‐end functionalized polymers: PMMA‐MI or PtBA‐MI at reflux temperature of toluene for 48 h resulting in the corresponding multiarm star block copolymers via Diels–Alder click reaction. The multiarm star and multiarm star block copolymers were characterized by using ¹H NMR, SEC, Viscotek triple detection SEC (TD‐SEC) and UV. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
